Liberian Community Engagement with the Minister For Presidential Affairs to take place in London has been postponed.
The Embassy of The Republic of Liberia in London invites all Liberians to attend an interactive community engagement with the delegation of the Government of Liberia, headed by the Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, Hon Nathanial F. McGill. The event will take place in the conference room of the Embassy of Liberia.

In honour of United Nations Peacekeeping Day Ambassador Gurly Gibson Schwarz of The Embassy Of Liberia UK, laid a wreath with officials of the UK Government.






Trade mission investment meeting at the House Of Lords hosted by Lord Sheikh.
H.E. Ambassador Gurly Gibson Schwarz of The Embassy Of Liberia UK, attended a trade mission meeting led by The Lord Sheikh and Lady Shaida Sheikh at the House of Lords with the intention of organising an in-person trade and investment mission to Liberia to take place before the end of 2022.

H.E. Gibson Schwarz spoke of the investment opportunities in Liberia, which present huge returns on investment, where the US $ is a legal tender alongside the Liberian Dollar, with zero restrictions of repatriation of funds from investments. English being the first language provides few challenges and creates significant opportunities for investments.
H.E. Gibson Schwarz told those attending at the British Parliament that traveling to Liberia will help businesses see for themselves and identify enterprises to invest their capital.
Lord Sheikh expressed his intentions of forming a trade alliance with Liberia, stating that there are enormous trade investment opportunities in the renewable energy, blue economy and tourism sectors.
Jonathan Turner, co-founder and director of NLA international Ltd was also in attendance and profoundly contributed to the meeting, detailing the possibilities of blue economy innovation within Liberia to improve and restore its ocean wealth.
Liberia’s Surfing Hotspot in Robertsport, Liberia
CNN reported that the “fishing village of Robertsport has become a vibrant hub for Liberian surfers, and a destination for international tourists in search of some of West Africa’s best breaks.” (CNN, 2022)

“Robertsport has joined both the country’s capital Monrovia and Harper, close to the Ivory Coast border, as the key surfing hubs in Liberia, elevating the West African nation’s status as one of the continent’s most vibrant surfing communities.
Irene George is the only female surfer in Robertsport. Her skills have earned her the nickname “Butterfly,” because she moves through the waves like she’s flying. Her dreams for the future include opening a school to teach kids how to swim and surf.” (CNN, 2022)





The Talented artist Bigtree performed his original song ‘Save The Planet’, which was inspired by H.E. Ambassador Gurly Gibson Schwarz’s tree planting initiative.
H.E. The Ambassador Gurly Gibson schwarz kicked off the national Gardening competition and a million tree planting initiative which aims to mitigate climate change and improve economic growth to achieve better livelihoods in Liberia.
On the 20th of May 2022 Liberian citizens gathered to plant trees in their local community and talented artist Bigtree performed his original music, which was inspired by the initiative.

National Unification Day In Liberia
National Unification Day in Liberia, sometimes referred to as ‘Integration Day’ was celebrated on the 14th of May 2022.
Liberian’s celebrate this national holiday to promote peace and unity throughout Liberia and around the world.
An act was passed in 1960 to proclaim May 14th as National Unification Day throughout Liberia, in order to recognise the importance of the unification and integration policy established by President William Tubman in 1944.

ULOUK
The Embassy of Liberia UK presented ‘The Next Generation of Liberia’ project at The Union of Liberian Organisations in the United Kingdom (ULOUK) meeting in Manchester April 2022.
Ms. Chrisphina Wreh, from the Embassy of Liberia UK and the leader/curator of The Next Generation project spoke about the purpose of the initiative which aims to provide an opportunity for young people in the UK to discover and connect with Liberia’s extensive history and culture.

Mr Albert Jaja, the Minister of Public Affairs and Ms. Wreh Secretary to the Ambassador Gurly Gibson Schwarz represented the Ambassador and The Embassy of Liberia UK while attending The Annual General Assembly Palava Hut meeting hosted by The Union of Liberian Organisations UK (ULOUK) on Saturday the 23rd of April 2022.
The meeting was held In Manchester inside the Community Building on Victoria Road, Stretford Manchester.
The ULOUK Palava Hut meeting provided an environment for the local Liberian community in Manchester an opportunity to communicate their concerns and questions. The meeting began with several Liberian citizens from Manchester stating issues prevalent within the community.
ULOUK in collaboration with the Embassy aimed to offer guidance and support to the Liberian community. Mr Jaja, Minister of Public Affairs responded to those in need by offering insight and advice to help resolve their concerns.
Ms. Wreh, Secretary to the Ambassador then presented The Next Generation of Liberia Project’ to those who attended the meeting and described the project as an opportunity for young people in the UK to discover and connect with Liberia’s extensive history and culture.




The signing of the book of condolence in memory of Dr. Amos Sawyer took place at the Embassy of Liberia-London on Wednesday, April 6 from 10:00am-1:00pm.
His Excellency Dr. George Manneh Weah, President of Liberia, the Government, and people of Liberia, mourn the death of former president of the Interim Government of National Unity of Liberia, Dr. Amos Claudius Sawyer. The former interim president died on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, in the United States of America following a period of illness.

His Excellency, President George Manneh Weah has described Dr. Sawyer as a pillar of strength for Liberia’s pro-democracy movement who contributed immensely to the peace that the country now enjoys, and whose footprints will remain etched in the history of the country for generations to come.
Dr. Sawyer was a founding member of the Movement for Justice in Africa (MOJA), a social justice organization which was very active in the 70s, and which is credited for raising the political consciousness of the population.
Dr. Sawyer also served Liberia in many other capacities before his demise, including as Interim President, when warring factions controlled large swaths of territories. He helped organize many peace missions in and out of the country which led to some cessation of hostilities. Before that, he was a renowned professor of political science at the University of Liberia.

World Art Day 15/04/22
On world art day, The Embassy of Liberia UK in partnership with Action Love Liberia Charity launched a fine art print sale of original Liberian art in support of women in Liberia.
100% of the proceeds raised will go to support 3 beneficiaries: Robert Moore Memorial Healthcare Center, Liberian Women Forum and The Association of Female Lawyers in Liberia.




Liberia was one of the 192 countries showcased at EXPO2020 Dubai united under the central theme of “connecting minds, creating the future.
On the 25th of March 2022 H.E President George Manneh Weah delivered a speech introducing the theme of Liberia’s National Day Pavillon/Program at Expo 2020 Dubai, which embraces and encourages trade investments as “essential ingredients for sustainable national economic growth and development.” President Weah expressed his thanks for the strong ties with the UAE and for their existing support for many projects they continue to undertake in Liberia.
Liberia seeks to expand its potential in many areas, including the financial sector, in addition to sectors like tourism, agriculture and fisheries. President Weah urges “UAE investors to come to Liberia and tap into these traditional and new sectors, which will help us fill Liberia’s huge infrastructure deficit and foster economic development in Liberia.” – President George Manneh Weah @georgeweahoff

On the 6th of February, The Embassy Of Liberia UK congratulated Her Majesty The Queen as the first British Monarch to celebrate a #PlatinumJubilee 👑, commemorating 70 years of service to the Nation and the Commonwealth.
